I hope you are all well and keeping safe.
As you are aware all face to face Scouting & Guiding meetings are on hold at the moment due to the situation we find ourselves in. This will no doubt affect this year’s Gang Show.
However in the words from the song “the show must go on”.
You probably have questions wondering if the Blackpool Gang Show will go on this year.
I hope that we will be able to put a show on in October, the rehearsal time may be minimal but I know we can all work together around this and put on a great show.
Sign on is scheduled for 21st & 28th April and we will be unable to do this face to face so we are exploring options to do this on line. Whether we are able to rehearse after that is all up in the air at the moment. How would we all feel about virtual rehearsals? Videos?
We will continue to plan the show, finalise the cast hand book, record the music and video the routines to allow the cast members for 2020 to practice and prepare in readiness for when we start rehearsals.
First, all the people who want to be in this year’s show need to sign up. This will be done on line. Nothing is finalised yet for this process, but it will be soon.
Information as it becomes available will be sent out via email, our website and social media. So keep an eye out for it!
Once you have signed up the plan is to put on the website the cast hand book, recordings of the music and videos of the routines and potentially do virtual rehearsals on line.
The Coronavirus situation is a massive unknown and what the timescales are no one really knows. Restrictions may be lifted or may go on and on, as time passes and things become clearer decisions can be made but at this time let’s plan for a show later this year.
I hope this updates you and reassures you that things are happening with the hope we can put on a show this year.
As always any questions please get back to me.
